The spectrophotometer, a proven and validated technology

A spectrophotometer allows spectral data to be acquired at any point on the tooth. The wavelengths are analyzed and then compared to a database in order to determine the color of a tooth. The Cobra performs an analysis in the visible spectrum between 380 nm and 780 nm.

The CIE L*a*b* and L*C*h color coordinates

CIE L*a*b* coordinates are a colorimetric standard defined by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) in 1976. They enable a wide range of features and standardized communication with your laboratory.

  • Calculation of color differences (ΔE).
  • Quantification of lightening treatments.
  • Help with correction.
  • Comparison of natural teeth and dentures in the mouth.
  • Compatibility with manufacturing recipe applications.

Vision Software: Analysis, Management, and Traceability

The Vision software allows the retrieval, analysis, and archiving of acquisitions obtained with the Cobra. This complementary tool to the spectrophotometer allows the centralization of patient aesthetic data (shade analysis, photos, comparison and lightening reports, etc.). It can be installed in dental practices and/or laboratories to further study and analyze the data most relevant to the manufacture of dental prostheses (brightness, chromaticity, shade, translucency).

The advantages of Vision:

  • Open-source, free software (dental practice and laboratory)
  • No additional operating or update costs.
  • The possibility of multi-station access (server for a network installation).
  • A classification by patient for simplified data management.
  • Simple editing of reports in PDF format. (shading, comparison, lightening)
